and press release for iPower500 of Chinese
enterprise infromatization for the year
of 2004 was presided together by NIEC and
the Internet Weekly in Beijing. And the
large-scale survey of iPower500 of Chinese
enterprises |

informatization
has got the outcome and Baoshan iron and steel
company is on the first place. In the survey,
we had extensively evaluated the informatization
level of Chinese enterprises in accordance with
the unified standard, Chinese Enterprises Informatization
Indicator System and selected 500 excellent
Chinese enterprises that own favorable innovation
ability and has gained prominent effect on the
process of realizing informatization.

| On June 18th,
2003 , the press release of Chinese manufacturing
informatization index was held together
by the leading team of national manufacturing
informatizaiton project and NIEC. On the
conference ,Lijian who is the |

leaderof Chinese manufacturing of Chinese manufacturing
informatization coordination leading group,
the director of High and New-Technology Department
of the Ministry of Science and Technology announced
the Chinese manufacturing informatization indicator
for the year of 2001-2001 that was just evaluated
successfully. This was the first time that the
government assessed the large national informatization
project and announced the result.

| On October
9th , the Forum of Chinese Enterprise
Informatization Indicator System was
held in Beijing by NIEC. Many government
departments and the related leaders
had attend the conference. Such as,
the Informatizaition office of State
Department, Informatization Industry
Ministry , National Economy and Trade
Committee , Central Enterprise Industry |

Committee , Science and Technology Ministry
and 30 countrywide guilds. And some leaders
and experts who are all in charge of informatization
department of provinces and cities and the
CEOs and CIOs form more than 150 enterprises
also attended this conference . The proposal
of build the effective informatization-let’s
go into action! was released by 15 famous
enterprises toward the whole country. |

| In accordance with the
request of National Informatization leading group
about “To establish a countrywide and unified informatization
Index system ”, the Information Industry Ministry
held the National informatization Index conference
and released The composition project of National Informatization
Index On July 29th ,2001. Minister Wu Jichuan highly
appraised the work of National Informatization Index
representing the Information Industry Ministry and
Party Committee.
The leading officials of General Office of State
Council , State Economic and Trade Commission , State
Development Planning Commission, State Statistics
Bureau, State Bureau of Quality Technical Supervision
, State Administration of Radio, Film and Television
, the Information Office of State Council and the
Ministry of Culture attended the meeting. The director
of each department of Ministry of Information Industry,
and the leading officials of Information Industry
Office of each province ,city and municipality attended
the meeting too.
On the conference, someone suggested that we should
scientifically evaluate the country and region’s informatization
level and should correctly guide the development of
every region’s informatization. The notification of
Information Industry Ministry has pointed out that
any countrywide comparison of informatization level
must according to the unified rules strictly.

| The Evaluation of National Informatization
Level |

| On March 19th ,2002,
the NIEC announced the testing result of the National
Informatization Indicator in Beijing and also announced
the research report of the national informatization
level .
The “national Informatization Index (NIQ)” was quoted
in the report. The NIQ is another key index to reflect
the national general strength at the age of informatization
just like the GDP.

| The Forum of National Informatization
Level |

| June 11th , the forum
of national informatization level was inaugurated
in Beijing presided by NIEC in order to get more suggestions
for improving the level of national informatization.
100 government officials,experts and industry giants
of informatization met in Beijing , making speech
with enthusiasm , discussing the naissance of NIQ
, and all appealed to bring the EIQ into birth as

conference of national informatization presided
by Wu Bangguo, the vice premier of the State Council,
pointed out that it is very important to found
the countrywide and unified informatization Index
System for scientifically evaluating the informatization
